Peckmans Plateau and Leura Cascades

After Scenic World, enjoy a couple short hikes out to some stunning locations. Take them as fast or slow as you wish, so long as you make time to enjoy the sights!

First up is a short, 30min walk out to Peckmans Plateau, which offers the perfect picnic spot to relax and enjoy the views. After returning, take the bus to stop #18 and make your way along the return track at Leura Cascades. Here you’ll find a longer, 60min walk which will take you past some iconic views, such as the Meeting of the Waters and Bridal Veil Falls.

Relax in Leura Village

Hop back on the Explorer Bus for a relaxing ride through to Leura village, and look out for the wonderful views across the Kedumba Valley as we drive past Kiah Lookout.

Allow some time to window shop in the many interesting shops along Leura Mall such as specialty shops, antique stores, cafés, restaurants, chocolate shops and more! Or you can  take a tour of the world’s biggest private teapot collection at Bygone Beautys.

Afternoon Tea in Katoomba

Relax on the easy ride back along the highway into Katoomba, while your driver tells tales of local history – such as how a team of 30 convicts built the road across the Blue Mountains in just six months in 1814.

Once you’re off the bus, you can head over to the Mountain Culture Brewpub for some awesome local craft beers and delicious burgers. With a great atmosphere and plenty of history, this pub is a great place to rest at the end of your journey.

Blue Mountains Cultural Centre

From the Brewpub it’s a short walk through to this excellent art gallery and museum.

Learn all there is to know about the natural and human history of the Blue Mountains at the World Heritage Exhibition, see great work by major Australian artists in the City Art Gallery, and head out to the viewing deck for a magnificent panorama of across all the places you’ve been on a great day of Blue Mountains sightseeing.

Fine Dining in Katoomba
