"We are quite widely travelled and use these sort of buses wherever we go -this one is something else! We cannot understand the negative reviews, we would have missed out on so much if we had just used ordinary transport We arrived in the Blue Mountains in the bleak driving rain and had volatile weather for our 2 day stay. Any thoughts of it being a washout were quickly dissipated by Damian our first and main driver. His knowledge and enthusiasm for this beautiful area encouraged us all to make the most it and we certainly did! The changing weather focused us to make the most of our time and meant we got a range of different photos of the same sights. The drivers are not just informative and entertaining but go out of the way to help their passengers. We would also recommend staying in the lovely Leura. Our hotel was opposite the station and the Explorer bus stop. Although it was not obvious from the website you can buy your ticket at any stop which worked perfectly for us. "

"The bus drivers are so informative and patient, but above all extremely friendly. Each time we got on at a new stop we were greeted with a smile and were asked 'did you enjoy the sights'. They explained the steepness or difficulty of each lookout which helped tremendously. Honestly felt like it was a well loved family member in the drivers seat. Once at the Blue Mountains rides, cafe etc we were once again greeted by friendly easy going staff.
Congratulations-an amazing, well above average experience all round. Not to be missed."

"My boyfriend and I went to The Blue Mountains for the first time. One of my friends had recommended we go on this Explorer Bus. We paid for a once off fee for the ticket and was able to hop on and off as we pleased. It stopped at a number of incredible places, like tracks to get to waterfalls, Scenic World and the Gardens. We spent the weekend in The Blue Mountains and each of the 3 days we went on the bus, as there were so many different things to do and see. The drivers were all really friendly and knowledgeable about the places that we went to and the area. We would really recommend it.

"Our first time visit Blue mountains. It was easy to travel by train from Sydney. When arrived we signed up for the Explorer bus (hop on hop off). We use it to travel to our hotel then next day for sight seeing. We came across serveral drivers they were all very nice and friendly. They also act as tour guide. We enjoyed very much our time in the Blue mountains.

"We took the Sydney to Katoomba train to Blue Mountain NP and then hopped on this tour bus. We saved a lot of money compare to taking a tour directly from Sydney. The HOHO tour bus ran just like the pamphlet says. They were on schedule and the stops are clearly marked. The best thing is the driver. He asked everyone on board which nation he/she come from. He used the nation's language to welcome everyone and gave us a brief introduction of the stops and suggested us how we traversed the park. We all have fun with the service and the driver.

"Really enjoyed my time at Blue Mountain with the Blue Mountains Explorer Bus. Bus drivers are very experienced, they provided interesting facts about Blue Mountain while driving, they also gave helpful advice to visitors regarding how to plan for the day, what to look out for, etc. Highly recommend visitor to take this bus tour instead of other tour group, this tour is way more flexible if you like to do things in your own pace.

"This is another superb HoHo bus service with really friendly and helpful drivers and staff, especially Trish, one of the drivers who really went out of her way to help make our day. Our experience started at the Katoomba railway station after disembarking off the Sydney train, when we were assisted with our Explorer tickets by a most helpful gentleman who explained the system, gave us a very informative 67 page guide which incorporated our tickets and told us where to catch the bus which was only a short walk from the station. Combining the ticket with the very informative guide is a brilliant concept and was most useful. The drivers were also most helpful by updating each other with the weather and visibility at each viewing point which they then passed on to the passengers with tips on where to get off for the best views at the time. This greatly assisted us get the best sights on the day, which we really appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed our day despite the inclement weather and we would like to take this opportunity to convey our appreciation to all the Blue Mountains Explorer Bus staff for making our visit to The Blue Mountains a special one. Thank you."

"Other hop on hop off bus companies could learn a lot about customer service from the guys here. From the shop staff to the drivers everyone seems to love their jobs and are keen to help their customers. Tickets can be used for up to 7 days, a timetable is given for each stop and apart from one day when there had been an accident blocking a village road the bus arrived with 2 mins of the published time. The on board commentary is live and the drivers have expert knowledge of all the sights and walks at each stop, ensuring you are heading in the right direction whenever you left the bus. Great job everyone you are one of the reasons we will definitely be returning to this region !!!"

"We visited the blue mountains and stayed in Leura for 4 days. The hop on hop off bus was really great as we wanted to do some walking. The bus dropped us off at points and we walked from one point to another and the bus picked us up. We saw all the highlights of blue mountains and more by using this service. The drivers were knowledgeable and friendly and they even extended our ticket for another day for free. They provided ponchos when it rained. We hopped on at 9 am every day and didn't finish until the last bus at 5.00 pm. We didn't use the car for the whole of our stay this service provided everything we wanted. Great value for the price."

"We booked a package through the YHA, $90 for 2 nights accommodation and this bus pass, and we also extended our stay for an extra few days to get the most out of the mountains. We used the bus for 3 days and it was great, it made it so easy to do long walks and hikes, without having to worry about returning to the car or public bus stop, we knew that wherever we ended up on our walk we'd be near a bus stop and only max 30 minutes waiting. We made it to most of the spots in the brochure in 3 days, including the brilliant Wentworth Falls. I'd say, definitely come for 2/3 days, and use the brochure to loosely plan your time and walks to get the best out of it! The map in the brochure is good for a starting off point and a more in depth one is available for free in the tourist information at Echo Point. Finally, everyone that works at the company was incredibly friendly and helpful, advising us on routes that were temporarily closed and informing us of other routes we could take, which we would not have known until we arrived at the closed off point, otherwise! Jimmy was an amazing guide. So glad we booked this bus, one of my favourite trips whilst in Australia! Thanks guys :)"

"We parked at Katoomba train station and the booking office was easy to find at the front of the station. The lady at the counter was very friendly and advised us on the best ticket to get.
The whole way around each bus driver provides excellent advice about getting from one location to another so that if a walk between is an option you can pick the bus up at further along the line stops. They also get to know the travellers so well and who they should be looking out for at each stop- excellent service. Once our tour had finished the driver also dropped us closer to the station car park- having asked if we were catching the train back to Sydney or driving. They really treat you as individuals on this tour. A great relaxed way to see the mountains and with excellent advice about getting the most out of each place to see.

"When hiking, one of the things that I hate is having to backtrack to return to my car. With this bus, you have complete flexibility to leave from one place and finish somewhere else. This lets you see more and also make decision on the fly regarding how much you want to hike. Also great: during the post-Christmas rush, they run extra buses. The last bus on December 27 wasn't until 7:30pm (departing Scenic World). So even more flexibility. Plus the buses were generally running every 15 minutes instead of every 30. Be sure to ask your driver when the last bus leaves, because it does seem to vary. Your ticket is valid for as many days you are staying (up to 7 days), so this bus is a bargain if you are hiking for several days (which you should--it is so beautiful here, I wish we had longer than 3 days!). Finally, a shout-out to Jimmy, who deserves a raise if he hasn't gotten one recently. He really cares about all of his passengers, and helps them plan their days and gives individual advice for maximizing one's stay--such as where to eat or what time of day to go various places."

"This is a great hop on hop off service to get around hassle free. Our driver Jimmy was so friendly and helpful. The route is well sign posted and you're given a very informative guide book and timetable. The red double decker bus is easy to spot and views from the top deck are great. Good value too, as a ticket covers you for the duration of your stay."
