The short walk down to Gordon Falls Lookout earns you a unique view that takes in the back of the Three Sisters, the 200-metre drop of Gordon Falls, a small slice of distant Lake Burragorang, and the long craggy finger of Sublime Point. Best of all, you can often have this secluded spot all to yourself.
Gordon Falls Lookout is one stop we always recommend to birdwatchers. You can often see eagles here, soaring on the air currents that swirl up from the valley. This is also a great place for bushwalking – you can walk back along the cliffs to Olympian Rock or Leura Cascades, or down into the secret little grotto of the Pool of Siloam.
If you just need a place to rest for a while, the grassy park and playground (right next to your Explorer Bus pickup point) makes Gordon Falls Lookout an ideal place for a family picnic.
This walk takes you down to a beautiful small waterfall then along a shady rainforest creek. It’s a great example of what makes the Blue Mountains such an amazing place to visit: you’re only steps away from civilisation, yet you feel all alone in the wilderness.
